Labor Positions.
Posted on : 02/10/2019

These are the positions which a labouring woman should know .These are very important if a mom wants normal delivery.

As per Lamaze teachings a mom should have freedom of movement at the time of labor and she should not be confined to bed.A standing position is helpful for normal delivery.

A doula or partner should acompney the mom.

with the help of partner  she can practice these birth positions .These positions help baby to come down and labor to progress.

In Lamaze prenatal classes these positions are taught to mom and her birth partner.

Labor at hom a long as possible !!!!
Posted on : 01/10/2019

First stage of labor is divided into early labor and active labor.

Early labor is the beging of labor .Here labor pains are very light .Labor pains are coming after a long time .and pains are not regular CX is 3 CMS only. This stage sometimes lasts for even days.

A labouring mom should remain at home and wait labor to progress.

What happens if she goes to hospital during early labor.

As per hospital policy she will be examined internally and her CX dilatation will be noted. Her labor pain duration and frequency will be charted

Other hospital routines like shaving enema etc are started.

The clock has started tickling as soon as you come to hospital.

Now since it is early labor so CX dilatation or labor pain duration are very slow to progress so doctor starts IV drug oxytocin to increas the pains and enhance the labor.A mom is confined to bed.

The mobility of labouring woman restricted.

Drug induced labor pains are difficult to tolarate .

So pain reliever drugs are given some time epidural is also required.

The cascade of intervention starts.

The end result will be cesarian section.

In my career I have come across such cases where  unnecessary cesarian sections were performed.

What classes a mom should join
Posted on : 30/09/2019

I recommend prenatal classes by childbirth international and Lamaze classes.

I conduct these classes myself here I try to help mom's by my knowledge of childbirth as well .unless and until you take these classes the exercise sessions are of no use more over all kinds of exercises are available on net as well.

I recomend my classes in which a pregnant mom comes to know about

Pregnancy details

Baby growth.

D.F.M.C.

Labor pain

Total duration of labor pain

Measures to cope with labor pain

Role of partner

Breathing techniques during pain

Birth positions

When to go to hospital

Every details at the time of birth

And all kinds of exercises to help normal delivery.

At the end of coarse a pregnant mom and partner becomes knowledgeable about child birth .

A mom gets empowered which is not possible by mere attending some exercise classes.

Childbirth is a lifetime experience for a mom.so we get mom ready physically and mentally for her lifetime event.

Why to attend childbirth international and Lamaze classes.
Posted on : 30/09/2019

Now a days in every corner of city all kinds of exercise classes are going on for pregnant mom's and they are charging you per class or packages and at the end of pregnacy you have to cough out thosands of rupees.

These exercise classes are are not worth of what they are charging.Today's mom does not know what she needs if her gynac suggests a trainer who teaches these exercises she is forced to visit that centre just because her gynac has recomonded .

Even a gynac does not know what is exact requirement since during our obstetrics coarse study we are taught interference with labor we doctors concider labor as a disease thouse this is a physiological process a obstetrician is required when normal labor has turned in abnormal.

I being a an obstetrician recomend classes which are Childbirth international or Lamaze and very big NO to exercise center's
